ABOUT THE CLASS:

Michael will bring in sides for you to prepare with a partner.  You will perform in front of the class and be given helpful redirects.  He will also be available to answer all your questions about how his office likes to work, current trends in the industry and how your head shots and resumes should look.

ABOUT THE COACH:

Michael Torbiak has been discovering new talent and working with some of the top names in film and TV at MTV, BRAVO and E! for nearly a decade. For two years now, Michael has been the casting associate for the comedy segments on ABC's JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!  The show casts actors on a daily basis for on camera work and voiceover plus dancers and musicians, often bringing in talent on a moment's notice for that night's show.  Torbiak works closely with KIMMEL's writers and directors to cast bits for the show's monologue and pre-taped segments involving celebrity talent on a regular basis.  He is responsible for casting everything from voiceover actors, to principal performers, Under 5's, extras, and more!

This office casts all kinds of performers, for a variety of different segments. Actors with improv and sketch comedy experience is always a plus but  sometimes the role requires a more serious, theater actor. This workshop will cover material from previous shows and since the majority of Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s casting is same day, the fast pace and cold reading will prepare you for the real deal! This is your opportunity to learn about the  comedy bits they cast, and learn what it takes to do the work on late night television!

ACW is bonded and licensed.  A workshop is not a job interview or audition. The presence of a casting director, agent or manager is neither a guarantee nor a promise of employment. The intent of the class is solely educational. Attending a workshop is not a way to obtain employment as an actor. Such contact as you may have with a casting director at a workshop rarely results in any further contact with that casting director or any company affiliated with that casting director.
